Feminine Archetypes for Healing & Empowerment

02/06/2023

If you're new to the idea of archetypes and haven't already read my intro post about archetypes, you may want to before reading further. You can find my Intro to Archetypes post here.

Now that you have a foundation in the concept of archetypes, let’s explore four feminine archetypes that figure prominently in my work, how they can impact you, and ways to use astrology and your body as a bridge to support you in meeting, empowering, and integrating your versions of those archetypes.

Four Feminine Archetypes Empowered and Disempowered

First, let’s talk about Pallas, your Inner Wise Warrior:

People who connect more fully with their Inner Wise Warrior experience greater courage and clarity, tapping into their inner wisdom to combine passion with strategy so they can be the Wise Warrior they truly are.

As you connect with, empower, and embody your Inner Wise Warrior, you’ll cultivate an increased capacity to:

  • Set and hold interpersonal boundaries with both loved ones and strangers
  • Stand up more effectively for ideals, causes, and people you believe in
  • Experience greater vitality and vision to pursue passion projects and work or business pursuits
  • Find creative and practical solutions to the problems and challenges that you face as a human being

If your Pallas/Inner Wise Warrior is disempowered or un-integrated, you’re more likely to:

  • Disconnect from your emotions and get stuck in your thoughts
  • Reject or discount feminine/yin energy
  • Fight for things or causes that you don’t actually believe in
  • Fight with people you care about without knowing why you’re fighting them
  • Turn your powers of discernment towards judgment and dismissing/dehumanizing people who don’t meet your standards
  • Become passive, avoiding conflict or confrontation at all costs

Some ways to connect with, empower, and integrate your Inner Wise Warrior:

  • Consider your Astrology
    • What Sign and House is your natal Pallas in? What other aspects or connections are present?
  • Consider your Body Map
    • Look specifically to your eyes, forehead, neck, and ears
  • Shadow work to reframe anger & connect with Anger as Life Force
  • Align chakras, focusing on 3rd Eye, Throat, Solar Plexus, & Root
  • Crouching & swaying movements
  • Movements that cross the midline of the body
  • The Halo-Active breath pattern

Now, let’s talk about Juno, your Inner Queen/Sovereign:

People who connect more fully with their Inner Queen experience greater peace and passion, tapping into their values and desires to intentionally create their life, so they can be the Queen they truly are.

As you connect with, empower, and embody your Inner Queen, you’ll cultivate an increased capacity to:

  • Show up meaningfully for the relationships that truly matter to you and graciously release those relationships you no longer want
  • Know what you want and express your desires clearly and confidently
  • Step out of comparison and competition and into collaboration and community
  • Deepen your commitment, joy, and vision when it comes to the relationships and causes that mean the most to you

If your Juno/Inner Queen is disempowered or un-integrated, you’re more likely to:

  • Allow jealousy and judgment to rule your relationships
  • Get in competition and comparison with other people (which is a manifestation of living in scarcity), instead of collaboration and community
  • Disconnect from your own hopes and desires
  • Find commitment boring or burdensome
  • Overreact to the behaviors of others while ignoring the effect of your own behaviors on other people
  • Become miserly or overly carefree with money

Some ways to connect with, empower, and integrate your Inner Queen:

  • Consider your Astrology
    • What Sign and House is your natal Juno in? What other aspects or connections are present?
  • Consider your Body Map
    • Look specifically to your nose, calves, hips, and ankles
  • Shadow work to reframe jealousy & desire
  • Align chakras, focusing on Crown, Heart, Sacral, & Root
  • Circular movements of the hips
  • Stargazing
  • Outstretched arms (to the sides of the body, not the front)
  • Cat/cow pose
  • Candle breathing

Next, we’ll discuss Ceres, your Inner Lady of Seasons:

People who connect more fully with their Inner Lady of Seasons experience greater stability and adaptability, tapping into their natural rhythms to nurture and nourish their connection to Self and the natural world, so they can be the Lady of Seasons they truly are.

As you connect with, empower, and integrate your Inner Lady of Seasons, you’ll cultivate an increased capacity to:

  • Recognize, honor, and work with the natural cycles that occur within you and around you
  • Process grief and experience gratitude
  • Relate to both food and your ever-changing body in healthier, more peace-filled ways
  • Receive and give nurturing in ways that light up your soul, instead of in ways that leave you feeling depleted or used

If your Ceres/Inner Lady of Seasons is disempowered or un-integrated, you’re more likely to:

  • Have a dysfunctional relationship with food and/or your body
  • Feel resentful and depleted
  • Struggle to adapt to change and transitions
  • Get stuck in grief or rage without actually processing the emotions
  • Feel out of sync or like you’re always off on timing
  • Struggle to ground or feel connected to the earth

Some ways to connect with, empower, and integrate your Inner Lady of Seasons:

  • Consider your Astrology
    • What Sign and House is your natal Ceres in? What other aspects or connections are present?
  • Consider your Body Map
    • Look specifically to your breasts, belly, thighs, and feet
  • Shadow work to address the Mother Wound
  • Align chakras, focusing on Root, Sacral, Solar Plexus, & Throat
  • Expressing gratitude
  • Circular movements of the arms
  • Earthing
  • Mindful eating
  • Tri-Active breath pattern

Lastly, let’s talk about Vesta, your Inner Sacred Servant/Priestess:

People who connect more fully with their Inner Sacred Servant experience a greater sense of purpose and contentment, tapping into the sacredness of the seemingly mundane so they can connect with their own spark of Divinity and be the Sacred Servant they truly are.

As you connect with, empower, and integrate your Inner Sacred Servant, you’ll cultivate an increased capacity to:

  • Be fully present and engaged in your life
  • Create sanctuary for yourself while extending hospitality to those you wish to share your time and love with
  • Foster an inner sense of belonging that is independent of the acceptance of other people
  • Hold fast to hope while preventing burnout

If your Vesta/Inner Sacred Servant is disempowered or un-integrated, you’re more likely to:

  • Dissociate from daily life or become obsessed with daily to-dos to the point of neglecting your spirituality
  • Become rigidly orthodox in your belief system
  • Overextend yourself in service to others
  • Use social events or social media to numb
  • Lose your sense of hope or purpose and feel burnt out

Some ways to connect with, empower, and integrate your Inner Sacred Servant/Priestess:

  • Consider your Astrology
    • What Sign and House is your natal Vesta in? What other aspects or connections are present?
  • Consider your Body Map
    • Look specifically to your shoulders, arms, knees, and the crown of your head
  • Shadow work to address the Madonna/Whore split
  • Align Chakras, focusing on Crown, 3rd Eye, Heart, & Sacral Chakras
  • "Sacred chores"
  • Flame-gazing
  • Fasting
  • Practice Hygge: a quality of coziness and comfortable conviviality that engenders a feeling of contentment or well-being (regarded as a defining characteristic of Danish culture). (Definition of Hygge came from the Oxford Languages website)
  • Breath holds- Top (holding breath with full lungs until body is ready to breathe) & Bottom (holding breath with empty lungs until body is ready to breathe)
