Intro to Feminine & Masculine Energy

There is both masculine and feminine energy existing in all things. It’s not so much about man vs woman or gender norms, though biological sex definitely sets a blueprint for the balance of feminine and masculine energies in the body. However, the opposing and complementary energies of yin and yang, feminine and masculine, penetrating and receptive exist in everything and in everyone (regardless of biological sex or sexual orientation). Finding your own balance between yin and yang within yourself is empowering and honoring.

There has been an imbalance in masculine and feminine energy in society for decades--if not centuries--with the masculine being prioritized and honored over the feminine. Masculine energies like linear thinking, goals, hierarchy, action, etc are in many ways viewed as superior to the more receptive, collaborative, circular, receptive energies that make up the feminine. This has lead to so much strife and unnecessary destruction over the course of human history. Disempowered masculine and disempowered feminine energy--those energies showing up in their denied or repressed unintegrated Shadow forms--creates rifts between individuals and societies. Empowered feminine and masculine energy--those energies in their integrated, honored forms--unite individuals and societies in creative, regenerative wholeness.

Divine Feminine and Divine Masculine are terms that can be used to describe empowered feminine and masculine energy. Divine Masculine and Divine Feminine energies are inherently generative and make up the very natures of God the Father and God the Mother. Each of us as spiritual offspring of God have the capacity within us to connect with and embody the traits and energies of the Divine Feminine and Divine Masculine. 

Since most of society and many, many individuals have an imbalance of energy resulting in excessive, disempowered masculine and deficient, disempowered feminine, much of my work focuses on awakening individuals to their feminine energy and empowering first the feminine and then the masculine. One of the main ways I do this is through working with feminine archetypes and helping women to connect with those archetypes within themselves.
