New Moon in Pisces

02/19/2023

I absolutely love this time of year when we experience a Pisces New Moon! Why? Because I was born on a Pisces New Moon!

As someone with a Pisces Sun and Moon conjunct the Imum Coeli, I often find myself longing to retreat from the world. The energy of Pisces can be incredibly sensitive, keyed into values that are eternal in nature, and prone to fantasy and dissociation. The Imum Coeli is the most introverted angle on the chart, and with my identity (Sun) and emotions/inner self (Moon) being in the most sensitive and introverted sign (Pisces)....well, I need a lot of alone time to recharge. And I can sometimes have a tendency to turn away from reality and get lost in idealism, fantasy, and otherworldly things when under stress. When we experience a New Moon in Pisces, I feel a little more at home in a world that hasn't felt like home to me for much of my life.

I came into this world with a Virgo Midheaven and a Leo South Node to Aquarius North Node life path though, which essentially boils down to me being accustomed to showing up and craving the praise and recognition that I grew so familiar with as a child/teen, while also knowing that my highest calling in life is to show up as a servant and healer for others, rather than seeking praise from others or hiding myself away.

All of this results in a back-and-forth between deep desires for sanctuary from earthly things and an unrelenting determination to collaborate with humanity to transform our human experience.

So, I show up for a while and go full-steam ahead, tracking details and striving for ideals that seem so far out of reach...until the pendulum swings the other direction and I become weary on a soul-level, longing for rest in a physical sense as well as in a spiritual sense.

I used to find this back-and-forth, shining and then retreating so incredibly confusing and painful. I thought I was just inconsistent and lacking in discipline and dedication. I would feel so worthless, especially since we live in a world and culture that idolizes productivity and external work and progress.

But astrology changed that for me.

I discovered astrology in a truer sense about 5 years ago. I learned that astrology at its core is so much more than generalized horoscopes in a newspaper column or a chart that tells you how you're "doomed" to something because your stars say so.

I discovered that astrology is intended as a language for deciphering the wisdom written in the heavens by the hand of God. It's a lens for seeing myself more as my Creator sees me. It's a blueprint that absolutely does not take away my agency; instead, it gives me a pattern for greater awareness so I can use my agency in a more empowered and intentional way.

As I've studied astrology and poured over my own personal natal chart and solar return charts, I've gained greater empathy for myself. The back-and-forth appearing and retreating that contributed to me feeling like such a failure makes perfect sense in light of my natal chart. Studying my chart, I've been able to see the gifts in my cycles of external striving and internal releasing. I've learned to honor the fact that I quite literally require more rest and releasing than the average person, and I'm discovering how to work with my own nature to create the life and experiences that I truly desire.

Empathy and awareness are crucial to any significant change, growth, or healing.

That is why I study astrology.

That is why I work with clients to help them understand themselves and their life experiences more clearly.

That is why I guide clients through recognizing and working with cycles that exist within them and around them.

Now, let's talk about this upcoming New Moon in Pisces, shall we?

Sun: outer-self, external focus

in

Pisces: spirituality, fantasy, imagination, intuition, openness, the Unseen, metaphysics, faith and doubt, agape (the love given by and received from the Divine), dissociation, merging, oneness

is working as one with

Moon: emotions, inner-self, intuitive focus

also in

Pisces: spirituality, fantasy, imagination, intuition, openness, the Unseen, metaphysics, faith and doubt, agape (the love given by and received from the Divine), dissociation, merging, oneness

which looks like an opportunity to release what no longer serves you in how you approach your spirituality and connection to the Universe, as well as how you experience hope, faith, doubt, and despondency. It’s also a chance to grow more open, aware, and at peace through the intentions you set at this time.
